Amy Kennedy, MS, LPC, LMHC, CRC, NCC
I have a private practice providing individual mental health counseling for adults via telehealth in Oregon. I provide clinical supervision for Registered Associates in Oregon. I view mental health from a whole body health perspective and emphasize the role of the brain, body, and spirit in well-being. As a therapist, I draw on an integrative approach that includes mind/body approaches to healing, NVC, and Depth Psychology.
I provide support for clients who would like to address symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as those experiencing adjustment to chronic illness and disability. Weekly therapy sessions focus on identifying and addressing any relevant origins of symptoms and developing tools to cope.
Background
I have an M.S. in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Portland State University. I received a B.A. in Psychology and Painting from Lewis & Clark College. I am currently completing a PhD in Counseling with Oregon State University, with research focused on medical patient experience.
I have worked with individuals with a range of mental health concerns, vision loss, chronic illness, and disability in Portland, OR and the Rogue Valley. I previously provided counseling, case management, and community-based services in community mental health and vocational rehabilitation.
I have additional training and/or education in yoga, EMDR, CBT, DBT, and hospice. With a background in the arts and time spent outdoors, I value the role of creativity and nature in healing.
